Five mates, some ex-players, others for the fun of it, got together to try to raise some money for a couple of very worthy charities - Vision Australia and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. Polo was something they had been involved in before so...... Wine Country Polo was born.

The 4th September 2010 marks the 2nd year of the Hunter Valley Wine Country Polo Festival in conjunction with Wirragulla Polo Club that will be held annually to showcase Hunter Valley wines, food and produce in a family friendly and enjoyable environment watching world class Polo players demonstrate their skills.

The Wine Country Polo teams will be playing on a specifically designed compact field, designed for 3 a side match, for maximum spectator enjoyment. The day will comprise of four games played by some of the greatest names in the sport. Each team represents a participating winery; Tatler, Sandalyn, Ballabourneen & Hungerford Hill. Watch the teams battle it out for ‘The Lovedale Shield’ & ‘The Hunter Promise Cup’ as you enjoy your favourite Tatler wine and the tranquillity & excitement of the ideal polo location.

During the festivities there will be a gourmet BBQ, boutique wines and assorted drinks available for purchase. Ongoing entertainment & the infamous ‘Stomping of the Divots’ will occupy you time in-between games. The kids will be entertained all day with a jumping castle, snow cones, pony rides & face painting. Local produce and products will be available for sale during the day.

Entry Fee: $20.00 per car.
